Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP is a London based investment manager focused on investing in Life and Non-Life insurance linked investments portfolios for institutional investors. Leadenhall was established in 2008 as a joint venture between a Global Specialty (Re)Insurer, Amlin and a highly experienced management team.
Amlin was acquired in 2016 by the MS&AD Group (a Japanese insurance company listed as a component of the Nikkei 225) and rebranded MS Amlin. MS Amlin's participation in Leadenhall was transferred to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (a subsidiary of MS&AD). This aligns Leadenhall with the wider asset management holdings of the MS&AD group, whilst still retaining Leadenhall's strong relationship with the underwriting and sourcing teams at MS Amlin.
Leadenhall manages both non-life and life insurance linked investment strategies. Through its non-life investment strategies Leadenhall offers investors access to pure re/insurance risk, which have exposure to property losses from extreme natural catastrophes (e.g. major hurricanes and earthquakes) and other non-life insurable risks (e.g. marine risk, terror, other specialty products). Through Leadenhall life strategies, investors can access returns from the life insurance linked asset class, which include mortality, longevity, morbidity & lapse risks.
The Leadenhall team has significant insurance capital markets experience gained at Swiss Re, Aon Benfield Securities & Guy Carpenter, with Founding Partners John Wells & Luca Albertini having a combined experience of over 55 years in the industry.
